Background

The FM 150 corridor was identified in the 2013 Hays County Transportation Plan as a corridor that would need improvements and expanded capacity in the future to meet the County growth projections. The Commissioners Court believed a unique approach was needed to balance the character of the community while being able to provide reliable and safe transportation in the future.

Project Team

Hays County hired the K Friese + Associates (KFA) to develop the FM 150 West Character Plan. Character and Nature Plan. The KFA team is led by Joe Cantalupo, the Project Manager, and includes:

  • CD&P – Public outreach and involvement
  • Hicks Environmental – Environmental research and documentation
  • Kittelson & Associates – Contextual planning

Under a separate contract, Prime Strategies, Inc. and HNTB are overseeing the work as the Program Manager and General Engineering Consultant. All team members work closely with the County and the community throughout the process to develop the Plan.
